| MAR (Medication Administration Record) |
The ICC MAR is the electronic version of the paper based medication charts used by nurses to document the execution of clinical orders for all patients. ICC MAR is a pragmatic and well-tested solution that is currently included in all ICC Clinical information Systems.
It does not require any work input on the part of nurses as it is automatically generated from physician prescriptions and orders. This is achieved using a purpose-built rules engine that is route-, frequency-, specialty- and medication-specific, and permits instant on-line updates.
The ICC MAR has a capability of notifying nurses through a proactive screen of prescriptions that are scheduled in the half hour to come, the current half hour or the half hour immediately passed. Documentation of originally prescribed medication can be tracked at two-minute intervals. Nurses are notified of impending empty IV solution or drip drug bags. Our MAR can be interfaced for access by pharmacists and they can connect using the application or through HL7.
Nurses use the ICC MAR to review their schedule for the administration of patient’s medications as well as to register the actual bedside administration of medications, infused medications and electrolyte solutions.
The ICC MAR is a highly professional tool that enables a higher level of patient care and includes the following features:
Medication orders created in the CPOE are populated automatically into the ICC MAR.
Self-generating nursing medication schedule: physician orders are automatically translated into Nurses timelines ; there is no need for nurses to redo transcription of prescribed orders, single-day and multiple-day scheduled modifications without the need for repeated prescriptions.
Medication schedule is integrated with predetermined prescription format.
